Burmese Mountain Dog
Here are some of the pictures we managed from the dog show. These pictures really don't do any of these dogs justice. Something I discovered was how completely fearless Emma is. She wasn't afraid of any one of these dogs, and most of them could have swallowed her whole. The Bull Mastiff was name Bodie, and tipped the scales at 240 lbs! The sheer size of his head left us all in awe. Emma just waltzed up to him and put her nose right up to his. (the handler said it was alright, but I had my doubts) She then put her arm around him for her photo opp. The Irish Wolfhound is probably the biggest dog I've personally ever seen. Emma was tired and a little out of sorts at the time, but she still sat down next to him. That dog was literally a horse! We bumped into another Bull Mastiff on our way to the agility course. Emma made a bee line for him. Papa asked if she could pet him and of course was aloud to. As Emma reached out to do so, the giant dog moved his head. Emma's entire hand disappeared into his jowl, which received a very gross face and disgusted sound from her. Everyone who witnessed the scene burst out laughing. At one point during the day, I turned around from one of the dog benches to have a huge nose literally in my face. It was a Great Dane that we had seen compete early in the afternoon. I was excited to meet him, but I was a little disconcerted at being nose to nose with him. Emma had her picture taken with him and he was very well behaved. He was beautiful, as were all of the dogs obviously..., but the dachshunds were a true delight to see. There was a mini black and tan that looked just like my childhood dog Poppy. It was so special to have a glimpse of our dear Pops again, and we all just wanted to hug and kiss her. Going to the dog show as a little girl was always something I looked forward too. Now I look back with fond memories and I'm so glad that we were able to give these to Emma. When she's older she can look at these pictures and see what fun we had at the Dog Show and how amazingly brave she was!

Oh my gosh! Those are HUGE dogs compared to Emma! Unreal! I can't believe she's not scared of them. All 3 of my boys would have run in terror! LOL!
