Grandpa & Grandma Hofmann's Gift
Mom and Dad knew Emma needed a dresser and told me to pick one out for her. Paul and I went all over the world (ok a couple of stores) to find one. I've been searching online and in papers...everywhere. These things are so expensive!! They were either really ugly or to much money. Mom suggested Baby Depot at Burlington, so we went tonight. This was the only model that I liked and of course it was the only one that didn't have a price tag. After 15 minutes of waiting for a price we had to find out if they would take mom's card over the phone, finally we did and they would. It took at least 45 minutes to figure out if they had one in a box. The computer showed they had 3, but after much deliberation it was decided that they only had the floor model. Good thing it didn't have any marks!! Then we had to figure out if we could fit it in the jeep. Paul's a good finagler cause he got everything moved around and it fit, amazingly! The one thing I didn't think would work and it was the easiest, go figure. So Em now has a beautiful dresser that looks great in her room! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!!
Rockin' with Daddy
Paul had today off so this morning we played guitar hero for a while. Emma loves to dance and sing to the music. She's always trying to pull on the cord to the guitar so Paul put it on her and was showing her the ropes. She's definitely a little rock star!! Look at those poses she was hitting... we were laughing so hard. What a girl!

Uh Oh
This morning our electricity went off while Paul was changing Emma. He came into the room to tell me, handing her to me. I responded with an " Uh oh" and then Emma said uh oh for the first time. It was such a cute sound! She turned and smiled at us. We played copycat all day and I was able to coax her into saying it twice more. She's growing up so fast... but we're sure enjoying every second!
Emma has started dragging books to me so we can read together. She loves her board books by Leslie Patricelli. I think her favorite is the Yummy Yucky book. She is really good at turning the pages and pointing out the baby. I love it! It's the best time of the day!
Emma's new favorite place is standing in front of the couch. She takes all of her toys there and turns around, balancing against her bum. As you can see she loves the remote control. She kept chewing on our nice remote so I found an old one. She takes it every where, but mostly chews it in front of the couch.
Em's getting really good at balancing too! She bends over to inspect the most minuscule objects. I don't know how she's sees them, eyes like an eagle this one. Most of the time they are too tiny to even pick up but she still tries. She's hilarious to watch.
Here she is proudly trying to show me the interesting object. She's my little personal carpet cleaner. Now if I could just get her to fold laundry...!
Late Friday night we took Em to the hospital with a high fever. I thought she might have a bladder infection... she did, but they were able to tell by the bacteria that it wasn't related to her surgery. We are so relieved!! She's feeling much better and acting like her normal self. She has to be on the antibiotic for a few weeks until her one year check up, then they will check her again to be sure the bacteria is gone. Hopefully, we hate that antibiotic!

Sunday Happenings
Paul gave me this really awesome lens for Christmas. I had kind of forgotten about it till the other day, so I got it out and started playing. It's really neat! My friend Bryndee said it's her favorite and I can see why. She's a pro so I know he chose a good one! I caught some great close ups of Em.
Well let's see, today Em managed to finally bonk her head on the hearth. She's really starting to pull her self up and walk along things...which is fabulous, until she falls. Somehow it didn't bruise, but she had a nice welt for a few hours. We're going to have to block it somehow because she just won't leave it alone, of course. She also managed to get another tooth. Paul discovered it the other night to our surprise. She'd been fussy the day before, and now I know why. The tally is 3 on top and 4 on bottom. One more to go and we'll be balanced.
Tomorrow the repair guys for our oven are supposed to finally come. It's been really tough not being able to bake anything. I ran a diagnostic on it today to be sure I could give them all the info...at 200 degrees it actually registers at 375, and at 300 it's really 525. Insane!! Hopefully they'll get the problem either fixed or the landlord will have to get us a new one.

Valentine Cutie
Grandma gave me this adorable Valentine's Day outfit. I just love it and look how cute I look!! This picture is Saturday the 2nd, the day of President Hinkley's funeral, also the day I got my second top tooth. Now I have four bottom and my two front teeth... hurray!! I'm so happy because my doctor's appointment went so well on Friday!! Dr. deVries took me off the antibiotic and said I look fantastic! I don't have to go back for an entire year!! Mommy, Daddy, and I are so excited! Sunday I turned 11 months old... Mommy and Daddy can't believe I've grown so big already.
