Two at the Bowl
Emma's Hospital Experience
We spent most of the day rocking Emma and solving crossword puzzles. The nurses would come and check in on us every so often, usually to give her some more pain meds.
Emma really loves her Grandma! They sang and talked together, but mostly they rocked. The purple bandage is covering her i.v., which the nurse said was a very large gauge for an infant. It was a good thing, i guess because it means Em has good veins. Hopefully she won't have many more i.v.'s in her lifetime.
drainage tube. Pretty gross, but she was so brave! She didn't move a muscle and hardly cried at all. Both Mom and I were really amazed and proud of her.
We were lucky to have them remove it before we left. If it had stayed we'd have had to go back a few days later. Once it was out, she was so happy! It obviously was very uncomfortable.
Here is the last picture before we got to go home. I had bought this little pink snowsuit back in October. This was the first time she had worn it. I guess I was meant to get it, even if it's the only time she was ever in it. It was so cold outside! It was the huge snow storm that had hit the West Coast. Everything always happens at the same time, but we managed. Emma is doing so well! Besides the cold she has now, she is healing remarkably. We have an appointment on February 1st at 9:30 for an ultrasound at Primary Children's, with an appointment at 10:30 with Dr. deVries for a consult. Hopefully everything was a success and Em can finally stop the antibiotic. Everyone keep their fingers and toes crossed. We also want to thank everyone for their prayers and fasts! It was so wonderfully overwhelming to have Emma in the middle of a prayer circle with every single priesthood holder in our family around us. I know that the power of prayer is real, the Lord was listening. I am so thankful for the power of the priesthood, especially for the worthy men in our family!! We love you all!!
