Pirate Island and Our Little Pirate

Emma with all her loot!
Playing with the coins they give you for the arcade.
Look at the cute shirt Grandma Hofmann sent in the mail, so fun! The waitress even commented on it. Emma just loves pirates, and she loves Pirate Island! We went again just the other day for lunch and she was very excited to see some pirates. I ended up buying a really cute pirate bow in the gift shop as you leave the restaurant. Luckily it matches a shirt we just bought from Target...she makes a very cute little pirate!

Cheesers
He makes it look easy, this might be the only time he went down on his bum. This guys a face firster!
Ashley, Heidi and I decided to take the littles on a play date. They had so much fun at the park. I had never been before... man, what a place for little kids! Emma loved the swing, but just hanging out with the cousins was great! Family is the best!! And I'll just add, what cute little kids, too! :)

Pirate Day!

Spencer, Captain Jack Sparrow, Emma
Captain Jack Sparrow, friend, Jonathon, Jonah My neighbor invited us to come over to their Pirate Party on Saturday, during the BYU football game. They had rented the Pirate ship that usually sits in front of Pirate Island, and had it sitting in front of the house. (pretty cool!!) We went over during half time and Captain Jack Sparrow was there! Emma was so excited, she wanted to have her picture taken with him. (It amazes me that after a trip to Disneyland, she would love pirates so much that she would want to have her picture taken with one.) I have to admit that the guy in costume was pretty darn good at being Johnny Depp, he had him pegged. The Hickman's are amazing people...she painted the mural behind them in the picture for the photo op, and she had a treasure chest full of toys and candy for the kids to pick from. She went all out, and it was a lot of fun! I found a new holiday to enjoy, I love Pirate Day!!

Dacia's Baby Shower!

So, I really hope Dacia doesn't mind that I'm posting these...but Mom really wanted to see them!
Cute little girl clothes! We love them all!
A diaper bag made from love, I"m just amazed it turned out so well!
Sweet Dacia with a cute tummy!
The beautiful spread my awesome family helped to create...you are all wonderful!!
My first diaper cake attempt... not too bad.
My little miss in her two seconds of calm during the shower.
The cutest, fuzziest thing I think I've ever seen!!
These cupcakes were so adorable we didn't want to eat them...almost, lol! But somehow they disappeared all the same! These came from Dippidies in American Fork, they do great work!
Cute Aunt Cly with her good friend Shelley.

Flour Massacre

As if I needed any further proof of how distracted we've all been these past few days... For some reason she thinks this is the most hilarious thing ever. I've come to learn that if i can't hear her and she doesn't answer immediately, she's in the flour. I'd move it but there isn't anywhere safe for it to hide. There is currently a fastener tied around the knobs. My little white Aborigine.

I know, I know...you are all probably in shock that I'm updating the blog! It's been a while and I feel awful for neglecting it, so I'll earnestly try to keep up on it. I'll be posting the pictures of our summer vacation soon, but...there are a lot and it's going to take some time. Hope you enjoy the few new postings.

Pirate PJs and Much More

Emma is in love with all things pirate since our trip to Disneyland. (Of course her favorite ride is Pirates of the Caribbean!) We took a trip to Babies R Us and found these...I couldn't stop myself, they are really cute! She loves them of course, running around saying "ARRRRrrrrrrr, I'm a pirate!" all morning. Of course, the reason we made the trip was for a pair of shoes, but I couldn't find anything I liked. Finally I found the adorable pair below at Target. I want them in brown, but they only had black in her size...I don't know why I'm surprised! (And yes, that is Mickey Mouse Club House playing in the background...her favorite show.)
I love the little ladybug embellishment...so cute! Grandma, this is what we replaced the shoes you sent with. I think they will be great! Hope you like them, too. This is Emma's new baby. Her purpose is to hopefully train Emma to use the POTTY!!! We'll see how it goes, Mom is a little too stressed out right now with everything else that is going on. Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to devote the necessary time to it. This thing wets and poops...unbelievable! She came with her own little potty chair. Evidently, depending on how you hold her when she drinks, she'll either wet or cry. I'm seriously blown away!!
Emma is in love. We asked her what she wanted to name her and she said "Baby Holly"! I told her we already had a Baby Holly and maybe we should call her something else. She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I don't think she liked my suggestion, lol! It's so amazing to watch her with the doll. She is such a sweet little mother, and very attentive to all her baby's needs.
We also found this adorable addition to the collection Grandma sent Emma. It's going to be great on those chilly autumn and wintry days! My cute little shmew!

4th of July Fun

Papa and Em enjoying a pink sparkler while we wait for it to get dark enough for the fireworks. I don't know about everyone else, but sparklers are one of my favorite things!! Paul even found a shirt for me that says "I Love Sparklers".
We found the biggest bottle of bubbles ever at Target. Emma just loves to chase them! This activity continued for some time. What you don't see are a handful of adults sitting and laughing at all of this bubble popping. It's the simple things in life!
Learning the art of setting snakes on fire from Uncle Jarom and Papa. It really is quite mesmerizing to watch the flame and ash grow. As a mother (and self-proclaimed firebug), it was very interesting to watch my daughter's inner firebug spark, while watching a Ghidorah rise up from the board. Definitely my little pumpkin!
Oh Emma loves her Grandma! I think it's safe to say the feeling is mutual. :)
Me acting like the dork I am. We had soooo many sparklers that we were burning them by the handfuls. For some reason this inspired the pose.

Oh What a Mess!!!

Oh, what a mess! Damon and I were making dinner when we both realized that we couldn't hear the little miss. I called her several times with no response. She finally came into the kitchen looking like this...(sigh). It didn't take long to find the disaster site, the downstairs bathroom. She managed to climb up some shelves and get a bottle of musk scented lotion. There was a thick layer covering just about every surface in the bathroom. She successfully used every last drop. Several washings and she still smells like musk, three days later!! Child, oh child, of mine.
